Hello there,
This is my first post to my blog. I will be practicing how to post photos and videos to my blog.
First things first, I would like to thank Michelle Laycock of Laycock Designs. She designed my blog banner, sidebars and buttons, etc. Didn't she do an awesome job? I am very pleased with how it looks. I call it my eye candy. I have been staring at the the banner for awhile now in anticipation of all the elements on the page being completed. I just love it! I could go on and on… I am so glad I didn't design it, as I would seem too boastful admiring it. Okay, enough fawning!

Bear with me as I am new to blogging and I am a terrible typist. I only type with 2 fingers.
On Wednesday, I will start off introducing my blog to you with a bang by giving away some Blog Candy. So let's start by posting a 6×6 scrapbook page I created a while back.
I wanted to come up with a 6X6 scrapbook page using the new stamp sets and colours before the release of the current Stampin' Up! 2009-10 catalog and this is what I came up with. I wanted an ethnic African Safari feel to it. Look how I used the scalloped oval to give you a stylistic representation of an African mask. (Did that sound good or what?) I think the linen thread did its job for bushy mask hair eh? I think it needs more though.
Stamp sets: Animal Stories, Circle Circus
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand, Soft Suede(In-Colour)
Inks: Classic Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, Creamy Caramel,
Accessories: Linen Thread, Antique Brass Jumbo Eyelet, Very Vanilla 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, and the Scalloped Oval, 1/2" Circle, 1" Circle, and 1 1/4" Circle Punches.
Technique: Random Stamping (my favourite technique to do for my scrapbook page backgrounds. I love to make my own patterned paper. It gives me the maximum usage out of my stamp sets!)

Your African Safari themed scrapbook page is just awesome…love the use of the Circle Circus set, and YES! your African mask looks great with the linen thread! Way to go, Girl!

love the colors you used. I especially liked the background you created; at first I thought it was designer paper and i wondered how I could have missed that pattern! looking forward to seeing your work!
